There’s a lot to love about living in apartments near Medical Center in Houston, but it’s easy to forget about all those things when the temperature refuses to drop below 100. We’ve almost made it through the hottest part of the year, however, which means it’s time to rediscover the joys of exploring Houston. As it turns out, this city has a lot to offer when the weather allows you to stay outside for more than 20 minutes at a time.
If you’re ready to get back outside, we think you’ll enjoy the blog post below. In it, we’ll be talking about a few of our favorite Houston outdoor activities. Whether you’re doing something as simple as hanging out in one of the city’s beautiful parks or something as adventurous as kayaking the bayou, hanging out outdoors is a great way to find a new appreciation for Houston.
Let’s get right to the list! When you’re done reading through it, please feel free to send this article to your friends and neighbors at your community of apartments in Medical Center.
Do anything and everything at Levy Park
Although it’s only been open for about a year and a half, Levy Park has already made an impression as one of the best parks in Houston for anyone who loves getting out and getting active. We love the wide open activity lawn because it offers a ton of different options for outdoor activities like a putting green, ping pong tables, and a unique outdoor reading room. If you haven’t had the chance to check this place out, pay a visit next time you feel like getting some sun!
Capture your next great Instagram at Gerald Hines Waterwall Park
Sometimes, the most outdoor activity you can muster is walking through a beautiful space and snapping pics. That’s okay, and it’s also one of our favorite things to do at the nearby Gerald Hines Waterwall Park. The highlight of the park is, of course, the 64-ft waterfall that spills 11,000 gallons of water down a wall every minute. You’ll have to see that, but you’ll also have to check out the wide open green spaces that are pe rfect for frisbee toss, playing catch, or simply lounging around with your best friends and a picnic basket.
Take a hike in Keith Weiss Park
The last outdoor activity is also the most physically taxing. That being said, there are few better ways to start a Sunday than by strolling past the creeks and streams in Keith Weiss Park. The hike covers about 2 miles, and it offers the chance to see tons of local wildlife. If you feel like starting your day on the right foot, head to Keith Weiss Park!
Those are all the outdoor activities we’ve got to suggest this week, residents! We’re thrilled that you took some time out of your day to read this week’s blog, and we hope that you’ll come back in a couple weeks to read the next one when it goes live!
