If you don’t have a favorite brunch spot in the neighborhood around your apartments in Medical Center, this is the blog for you. In this week’s post, we’ll be talking about some of our favorite cafes and hole-in-the-wall brunch spots, and we hope you agree with our assessments!
Take a look at some of the top-rated brunch restaurants in the list below, and please be sure to share the link to this post with your friends and neighbors at your apartments near Medical Center.
The line will be long at The Breakfast Klub, but it moves fast because you order up front and grab a number. We recommend the chicken and waffles, as that’s their signature dish. It comes with strawberries on the top of the waffles, and the chicken breading is out-of-this-world good.
This is a small place, but those are often the best brunch spots. You’ll probably have to wait for a bit if you go on the weekend, but Barnaby’s provides complimentary coffee for people who’re waiting in line. This is a good place to go if you’re willing to wake up early, as that will make parking and getting a table a whole lot easier.
As for the food, we recommend the green eggs with cheese, artichoke and spinach. You also get sausage, toast and breakfast potatoes with this dish, making it one of the more filling menu options available. All the servings are big, and the waiters come around to refill coffee constantly. Check this place out next time you’re willing to wait for your brunch!
It’s hard to get away from the craziness that is downtown Houston, but if you can sneak off to a quieter part of town, you can enjoy an awesome brunch at Leeland House. The restaurant is located inside of an old home that’s been renovated, which makes for a super unique dining experience. Leeland House is one of the most dog-friendly restaurants in the neighborhood, so bring your pup out to the patio! The patio is uncovered, however, so avoid this place if it’s raining because inside seating is limited.
Food options include brisket hash, shrimp and grits and some of the best croissants and cinnamon buns in town. In fact, a lot of people say that the pastry options at Leeland House are the best menu options you can order.
Where else in Houston can you get a mimosa slushie? A trip to Grace’s is worth it for that drink alone, but this restaurant also serves some amazing southern brunch food like gumbo, pork chop with gravy and shrimp and grits. If you want something to drink besides the mimosa slushie, try the spicy bloody mary. It doesn’t have much in terms of toppings, but the mix itself is super tasty.
We mentioned some of the southern dishes, but our favorite meal at Grace's has to be the breakfast sandwich on a pretzel bun. The sandwich comes with gumbo on the side, making this dish the best bang you can get for your buck.
